Jonah Lehrer comes through again with this idea about the relationship between expectations and belief. For actors, I think this piece illustrates the idea that unless you truly embody the given circumstances, you cannot view the world through the eyes of the "character" and therefore your ability to fully believe what you are experiencing will be hampered. In the wine world, it is mind over matter, belief versus experience, and belief seems to win hands down.
